Why Ember exists
We all know climbing is better with people. But finding groups as a new climber can feel daunting. Whether you’re new to a city, new to climbing, or just looking for a regular group, it can be awkward trying to find your people.
Ember is being built to help.
The Problem
Right now, most climbers rely on scattered group chats, Instagram posts, Facebook groups, or unstructured gym events. There isn’t one clear place where you can see who’s climbing, join a group or even organise yourself.
It works but is confusing and hard, we want to centralise climbing groups and create an accessible and easy way for people to find them.
There isn’t a reliable, UK-based platform that does this well. That’s the gap Ember is trying to fill.
Who we are
Ember is being built independently, in our free time, by climbers who care about culture of the sport.
We aren’t a huge company and we aren’t asking for any money.
However every signup shows us there are other people want this app to be finished, and that support helps us keep building.
